May 28, 2025. The women’s councilor of Lorca, María de Las Huertas García, announced on Wednesday that this municipal management area will launch a «Camp Co-Responsible», a language immersion initiative aimed at minors between 12 and 16, which will take place from June 20 to 22, with registration until June 12, at the Calnegre Hostel.
María de Las Huertas García emphasized that «the activity, which has 20 available spots, aims to continue favoring the reconciliation of personal, family, and work of Lorquinas, in line with Lorca’s commitment to equality and co-responsibility, offering education and quality alternatives for minors.»
In addition, the mayor highlighted that «the camp is completely free and includes accommodation for two nights, full board, shower trips, and activities led by specialized monitors in free time and leisure, all with a language immersion focus that will enrich the learning of participants in a natural and unique environment, like Calnegre.»
The registration period will be open from May 28 to June 12 and can be done through the electronic headquarters of the municipal site www.orca.es or at the Municipal Council registry. Furthermore, participant selection will be done on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached, with the only requirement being that minors are between 12 and 16 years old.
«From the city council, we continue working so that Lorca is a reference in equality and conciliation policies, respecting the objectives set in the equal opportunities plan between women and men in the municipality,» added García Pérez, who also encouraged Lorca families to take advantage of this new initiative and involve other children in nature.
The Camp Co-Responsible is funded by the corresponding grant from the Ministry of Equality of the Government of Spain, the State Secretariat for Equality and the Eradication of Violence against Women, in collaboration with the Government of the Autonomous Community in the Region of Murcia.
