La tasa de IPC en la región de Mercia disminuye un 1,5% en abril

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased to 1.5% in the Mercia region in April, on an annual basis, the lowest among all communities and one-tenth lower than the previous month, according to final data released Wednesday by the National Statistics Institute (NE).

April data is the lowest recorded in the community since September 2024. Monthly, inflation in the region increased by 0.5%, while year-to-date, the increase stands at 0.9%.

If prices increased the most in the same month of the previous year, it was in households, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, 4.4% higher than in April 2024 (-1.2 points year-on-year marked the previous month); leisure and culture, 4% more (+4.3 points); Other goods and services, 3.5% more (-0.1 points); and restaurants and hotels, 3.3% more (-0.5 points).

On the other hand, where prices decreased the most on an annual basis, were clothing and footwear, -6.3% (-0.6 points compared to the previous month); and transportation, -2.9% (-1.4 points), the only two categories that decreased.

Nationally, the CPI increased by 0.6% in April compared to the previous month, reducing the year-on-year rate by 0.1 points to 2.2%.

By the end of April, the highest CPI rates were in the Balearic Islands (2.8%), Euskadi (2.6%), and the Valencian Community (2.5%). On the other hand, Murcia (1.5%), Castilla-La Mancha (1.7%), and the Canary Islands (1.8%) had the lowest rates.

Navarra (+0.6%), the Canary Islands (+0.2%), and Extremadura (+0.2%) were the communities where prices increased the most on an annual basis, while Euskadi, Madrid, and Andalusia had the least increase, with delays of 0.2%, 0.2%, and 0.2%, respectively.
