From Friday, May 30th to Sunday, June 15th, the Plaza Mayor in the city of Yecla will host the Book Fair 2025, organized by the Department of Culture, as it was not held in 2020, the year of the pandemic. The program will run in the morning from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, and then from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
Readers will find news, deals, and, most importantly, the aim of this fair is to engage with the writers of YePlanos, with 11 of them present at the event to share their news, sign copies, interact with the public, and even conduct interactive activities.
These Yeclan authors cover a wide range of genres, from children’s literature to narrative and poetry. Author Ana Frufatuoso Ros will kick off the event on Saturday, May 31st, presenting her latest novel «Weightless Loves». Juan Gil Palao (Monday, June 2nd in the afternoon), Elizabeth Perpignan Ortuño (Wednesday, June 4th in the afternoon), Concepción Silvese Díaz (Thursday, June 5th in the afternoon), Carmen Buyol (Thursday, June 12th in the afternoon), María Pillaro Boeno Heredia (Thursday, June 13th in the afternoon), and Mariada Gómez Ortigosa (Saturday, June 14th in the morning) will also be part of the event.
«This weekend’s event has been combined with the III International Historical Recreation of the Golden Age to make the book fair more tailored to this moment,» explained the councilor. The book sales booth is managed by entrepreneur Pedro Miguel Pérez Amorós.
The culture councilor was joined by three of the writers participating in the fair – Nati Puche, Incección Silviors, and Ramón Palao – who expressed their gratitude to the Municipal Council of Yecla and, in particular, to the Department of Culture for «this opportunity to showcase literary talent», the Book Fair, and their involvement in YECLA activities, inviting all citizens to join.
