Equilibrio y cronología del suceso en Yecla tras el cierre eléctrico

After the national electrical shutdown that occurred in Spain from 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 28, and after activating the Regional Emergency Plan (Platomur) at Level 1, the Local Council of Yecla was activated at 1:45 PM at the Local Coordination Center (Cecopal).

The Mayor of Yecla, Remedios Lajara; Councilors for police, traffic, citizen safety, civil protection, and emergencies; as well as representatives from the local police, National Police, Civil Guard, Civil Protection, Firefighters, Red Cross, Remericio, Judicial Authority, and Different Municipal Services Headquarters. During this meeting, it was agreed to establish the command post of the local police and National Police at the local council, following the installation of a set of generators.

The main objective was to coordinate an effective response to interrupt the power supply. The local police, civil protection, and reometer were mobilized immediately, and a list of vulnerable people, especially those dependent on electrical ventilation devices, was mobilized as a priority measure.

In addition, an inventory of generators and fuel available in the municipal sphere was carried out to provide part of the public lighting efficiently to avoid possible altercations at dusk. Likewise, a monitoring protocol was established for critical centers such as the hospital, health centers, centers for the elderly and disabled, and educational centers.

Among the most relevant actions of the day, it is worth highlighting the efforts to obtain a large electric generator that would have allowed the reactivation this morning to provide the drinking water network. Additionally, water, diesel, and generators were supplied to several senior residences, disability care centers, and schools.

Regarding security and emergency situations, after the breakdown of communication systems by the digital radio tronal, all police officers, firefighters, and 061 analog communication equipment were provided to maintain constant contact, allowing for the prevention of altercations and frustration of a robbery attempt. No traffic accidents or other relevant incidents were reported.

It is important to highlight the services provided by the Red Cross, firefighters, and civil protection, who participated in neighborhood requests such as rescuing people trapped in elevators, transfers, and oxygen supplies.

Finally, after the progressive restoration of the electricity supply, at 00:30 hours, the water extraction and pumping station could be reactivated, thereby normalizing the supply throughout the city.

Today, April 29, at 9:00 a.m., a new Cecopal meeting took place to evaluate the overnight development, which passed with almost no incident to review. The Mayor of Yecla concluded, thanking «the participation and collaboration of all the troops during yesterday, as well as the understanding of all the Yeclanos during the outage».
