Yecla impulsa Oficina de Cine para apoyar al sector audiovisual

Yecla City, through the Department of Tourism, announced the launch of the Yecla Film Office, a municipal service created to promote film shoots, support professionals in the audiovisual sector, and stimulate the cultural, economic, and touristic development of the municipality.

The Yecla Film Office was established in February 2023 in the Murcia region, but it is now actively working with technical staff, sector guidance, and a social media presence. «This membership allowed us to join the regional network of locations and establish initial links, and since then, we have been working intensively to create a favorable environment for audiovisual development, laying the necessary groundwork for the operation of this service,» said Isabel Pérez, from the Tourism Council.

Therefore, the Yecla Film Office now has official channels to assist producers, filmmakers, technicians, and audiovisual creators interested in filming in Yecla. To contact this service, you can reach out via email at filmeoffice@yrola.es, by phone at 968 754 104 (Monday to Friday, between 9:00 and 15:00), or through social media on Instagram and Facebook under the profile @JeclafilMofice.

«Stream” – Yeclana’s First Feature Production Released on Amazon Prime Video

The first remarkable achievement of the operational phase of the Yecla Film Office is the international premiere of the feature film «Stream» on Amazon Prime Video, now available for viewing on this platform. Directed by Sergio Pereda, this film was produced by Yecla-based Wild Lemon Films in co-production with MGC Films and Marketing, with support from the Yecla Municipal Council through the Department of Tourism, the Institute of Cultural Industries, Murcia Arts (ICA), and the support of entities such as the Yecla Furniture Fair, Muebles Río, Yecla Wine Route, and Hotel Avenida.

The film «Stream» has already had an exceptional journey in international festivals, including PUFA (Panama), Chicago Horror Film Festival (USA), Valdivia International Festival (Chile), Tarrega I Pent (Urgell), Madrid Film Festival, and Blacksunday Film Festival (UK).

Isabel Pérez emphasized that «This is the first time a film shot in Yecla will premiere on a platform like Amazon Prime. Additionally, it is worth noting that in the movie, the main character, Craven, played by Rodrigo Priesto, bears a name associated with Yecla, defending the town’s name in the chats that appear in that sequence.»

With the real and operational implementation of the Yecla Film Office and the announcement of one of the first successes in the film scene, the Yecla Local Council reaffirms its commitment to the audiovisual sector as a driver of cultural, economic, and touristic revitalization, strengthening film as a tool for strategic collaboration among creators, institutions, and stakeholders.
