The social policy counselor, Patricia Soriano, presented the activities organized on the occasion of The Cultural Week of the Municipal Center for the Elderly in «Herratillas», which will take place between April 22 and 30. Possible activities for collaboration from other councils, such as culture, tourism, and women. Also appreciated the collaboration of Herratillas College and Instituto Felipe VI.
The counselor thanked the high participation in the scheduled activities by the users of this elderly center. Weekly, around 650 people participate in the various activities. There are 25 workshops that are held throughout the course, to which some specific Christmas workshops or in the same cultural week are added. The workshops with the highest participation are the dance ones, with around 150 attendees, according to the counselor.
Patricia Soriano mentioned that currently there are 8,943 people over 60 years old; and the members of the Center for Herratillas Seniors are at 4,022 people.
The cultural week will open on Tuesday, April 22 at 4:30 p.m. with the opening of The model «Prehistory in Yecla» and a Representation of the body expression group. On Wednesday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m., Poetry recital with students from Instituto Felipe VI and members of the Center for the Elderly. Later in the afternoon at 5:00 p.m., The conference «Language in the name of the rose» with the collaboration of Charo’s cutillas.
On Thursday, April 24 at 9:00 a.m., a Trip to Arabí with a guided tour of the cave paintings in collaboration with the Department of Culture. At 4:30 p.m., Audiovisual projection «Alive in Memory 2» with the collaboration of Antonio Melero.
On Friday, April 25 at 10:00 a.m., Poetry recital among the students of Instituto Felipe VI and the members of the Center, in this case at Instituto Felipe VI. The same day, at 11:00 a.m. at the Elderly Center, The workshop «Activate your mind» (Pass the word, crossword puzzles, etc.). Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, a Trip to Arranguez, Alcalá de Henares, and Torrejón de Ardoz. On Tuesday, April 29, a Excursion to Argos Vega in Cehegín.
On Wednesday, April 30, the models made by the students of Las Herratillala College will be visited. Also, a Personal care workshop for women (from April 3) and on April 10 and 16, Workshop on internal management and personal autonomy for men. On Friday, April 11, the performance of Percussion groups from the Senior Center of Herratillala College.
