Twenty-four students from Lorca in different secondary schools in the municipality won, eight per category: overcoming, effort, and excellence.
The award ceremony had, among other things, the presence of Antonio David Sánchez, the talented young mayor of the city of Lorca, who emphasized, «not only the motivation, but also the potential impact that these awards can have on the creative development of our municipality, a city full of talent and opportunities.»
Lorca, June 20, 2025. Lorca was dressed up tonight at the Gala with the Young Talent Awards, an initiative through which the Lorca Local Council wants to recognize the merit, dedication, and effort of all secondary school students in our municipality, promoting a culture of effort and development.
IES ROS Giner was the chosen setting for an evening where up to 24 students were recognized in total in the categories of overcoming, effort, and excellence (eight per category).
During the award ceremony, Antonio David Sánchez congratulated the winners and commended, in addition to the other participants, the teaching teams for their great and continuous work and, of course, the jury, who had the challenging task of selecting the protagonists of each category.
«These awards aim not only to recognize students with the best grades, but also those who have shown constant effort, a great ability to overcome, and a positive impact on society or their educational institution.» In this sense, «the Lorca government will continue to strive to respond to the challenges presented by the youth of our city, engaging in their needs for education, work, culture, sports, and leisure time, improving development and projection.»
The 2025 talent awards take into account three forms of recognition: overcoming, for those students who have shown a great ability to overcome personal, academic, or family difficulties, achieving their maximum potential; effort, for those who have made progress in their studies, showing perseverance and a positive attitude towards learning; and excellence, for those who stood out for their high performance in academic, artistic, or sports fields, demonstrating a notable level in their specialization.
The awards were 150 euros and a certificate of accreditation.
