The works for the installation of lighting on Calea de los franceses in Jumilla, and this week, the mayor, Seve González, accompanied the councilor responsible for public roads, Francisco Javier Bernal, on a visit to the area where the works are being carried out. .
As detailed by the service councilor: «The lighting works in this way have already started, which was very necessary and the project spent about six years in a drawer. We see that this is a reality now and in a few weeks we will see the works completed and illuminated on this necessary road.»
The area of the French road that will be provided with lighting is from the roundabout with the sundial to the roundabout that is linked to Avenide a Yecla and is a linear stretch of 1.7 kilometers. LED lighting bars will be installed every 25 meters, enhancing the light at the roundabout.

Fortunately, so far there has been no outrage, but it was a very dangerous area.»
As indicated by the councilor of the area, after the installation of the new lighting, the road signage will also be renewed, as well as the change of beacons separating the road from the shoulder, the pedestrian, and cyclist area.
It is a «very necessary and important» action, which was awarded through public tender to the electricity and refrigeration company Maisi SL for a prize amount of 287,604 euros included.
