July 9, 2025. The Municipal Council reports that the smoke in Lorca comes from a fire declared in the Baix Ebre region (Tarragona), not from any fire declared in our area. It is due to the change in wind direction and atmospheric currents that transported smoke to the region of Murcia
There is no risk to the population, but it is important to follow a series of recommendations:
– Keep doors closed and windows while the smell of smoke is perceived
– At-risk populations (people with respiratory problems, elderly, or children) should limit outdoor activity
– Follow the official information from 112 Lorca
The monitoring of PM10 particles in the city is also being carried out, and at this time, there have been no changes, and as a precaution, the emergency plan in the pre-emergency phase has been activated throughout the municipality
