El Consejo Municipal rechaza la campaña de desinformación contra la gestión en Limusa y exige respeto a la verdad por parte de PSOE e IU.

The government of Lorca recalls that it was the PSOE who established the use of detectives in the company 40 years ago and dismissed more workers from the company, the most recent being two years ago, under Diego José Mateos.

Juan Miguel Bayonas: «It is a lie that someone was sanctioned for 10 minutes of work. It is a lie that the culprits were sanctioned solely based on detective reports, as these facts were also discovered by the company’s own means. It is a lie to continue to deceive or manipulate anyone.

It was shown that some employees exceeded break time repeatedly, violated Law 28/2005 which expressly prohibits smoking in educational centers, and lied to a superior, constantly abusing trust and breaching good faith in the contract. These are considered very serious work offenses.

On February 7, 2025, the responsible advisor of the public cleaning company, Limusa, Juan Miguel Bayonas, strongly rejected the campaign of hoaxes, lies, and misinformation that the PSOE and I have carried out in recent days against the management of Limus: «It is cynical, funny, and hypocritical that they now feign surprise, for example, about the use of private detectives, when this practice was established in Limusa by the PSOE 40 years ago and continued during the 25 years of municipal government, which they were managing.»

Juan Miguel Bayonas stated that, in response to the intense campaign of disinformation and falsehood, he defends and protects the truth against lies.

Bayonas pointed out that, in fact, the PSOE has dismissed workers from the company over the years based on detective reports used for this purpose. As a more recent example, it should be noted that, under Mayor Diego José Mateos, and with Mrs. Casalduerero as mayor, the PSOE dismissed a Limusa worker two years ago under similar circumstances and said nothing.

The Limusa councilor explained that the reality is that the mistakes and violations of several workers are being used politically, trying to twist the truth, undeniable and objective facts.

Given these facts, Bayonas questioned why Mr. Sosa and Mrs. Casalduarero never showed the use of detectives while they enjoyed municipal government and managed Limusa, and now the tables have turned. It is a very ridiculous and flagrant hypocrisy. We demand seriousness, coherence, and meaning.

Limusa had to resort to these services due to the unsustainable situation in the workforce caused by a significant increase in workload, as constant absences seriously affect its operability and efficiency. This was demonstrated in the Company’s Committee meeting in September. The Company’s Committee requested that necessary disciplinary measures be taken with those who do not fulfill their work obligations, as mentioned in the minutes.

On this occasion, the local council, based on the provided information, certifies a complete chain of very serious and repeated violations. It is important to note that these facts could lead to more serious disciplinary measures, including dismissal.

Detective reports protect employees who do their job and prevent them from bearing the burden due to those who do not. Their goal is to ensure the management of public resources to prevent fraud and violations of work obligations.

Limusa was forced to take these measures to defend the work of those who are doing their job. Good workers have nothing to worry about. One may wonder why those caught in wrongdoing are now so vehemently agitated, disrupting their work, abusing the company’s trust, and why they are now striving to spread lies and distortions to cover up their work crimes.

Very serious work offenses
In reality, it has been proven that these individuals exceeded break time repeatedly, violated Law 28/2005 which expressly prohibits smoking in educational centers, and violated the company’s regulations and the comprehensive plan for tobacco prevention and control. Approved by the Council of Ministers in 2024, and lied to a superior. These actions constitute breaches of trust and breach of good faith in the contract, which are considered very serious work offenses.

Juan Miguel Bayonas emphasized that good management cannot overlook such seriousness. Lies and deceit cannot go unpunished. Reflection is necessary. The only victims of these crimes are the Limusa workers who are doing their job. A company that operates with public money, from the taxes paid by the Lorca residents, which we all contribute to. We have an obligation to monitor how public money is used, and those who do not respect this reality, it is clear that they must bear the consequences of their mistakes. The culprits are not victims of circumstance. If the work had been done as the rest of the staff do, we would not be in this situation.

The Limusa councilor reminded that this is a cleaning company that provides the most protection and care to its workers, offering them the coverage and contractual conditions of the sector in our country. False claims about supposed «precarious» conditions in their work are unfounded. In this regard, let us clarify what the remuneration and benefits enjoyed by Limuss workers are and what is publicly known:
1) The regional agreement establishes a working day of 39 hours per week, Limus reduces it to 35. The daily work for Limus workers is 6.5 hours, reduced to 5.5 in June, July, August, and September.
2) The regional agreement does not include seniority vacation days, Limus grants up to 3.
3) Limusa grants all paid permits established by the Regional Agreement, in addition to 3 days at Christmas and another 3 at Easter.
4) Limus adds to the 14 official holidays of the regional agreement, another 2 days: December 24 and 31.
5) Limusa grants a Thanksgiving Day of €630 in marriage. The regional agreement, nothing.
6) Limusa grants its workers 6 working days of personal problems, compared to 2 from the regional agreement; 4 more.
7) Limusa employees have a voluntary leave period of 3 years, one more than the regional agreement.
8) The regional agreement maintains consolidated seniority from December 2008, while Limusa granted seniority of up to 40% of the basic salary.
9) Limusa pays fixed productivity plus €187.49 per month. The regional agreement does not consider anything.
10) Limusa pays 4 additional payments, including basic salary and seniority.
11) Limusa covers its employees with 100% temporary disability supplement from the first day of decline.
12) The regional agreement does not consider partial retirement. Limusa grants it at 62 years and 8 months.
13) The regional agreement does not consider disability assistance. Limusa provides a monthly assistance € for each co-exigent family member.
14) The regional agreement does not consider school assistance. Limusa pays an annual assistance of €89 for children between 3 and 18 years, and university assistance of up to €3,200 per year.
15) The regional agreement does not consider eyeglass and dental prosthesis fertilizers. Limusa pays 40%.
16) The regional agreement does not consider loans for workers. Limus grants them a maximum amount of €900 interest-free.
17) The regional agreement does not consider seniority preferences. Limusa offers its workers preference to be closer to the home workplace and to cover higher category vacancies.
18) Regarding salary, an employee with 20 years of service in the company receives 58% more per day than in another company adhering to the regional agreement.
