During the meeting, which took place in Lorca, Fulgencio Gil wanted to congratulate Inma Pelegrín for this important literary recognition, emphasizing the career of the poet and the great leap into narrative that is Fosca. «It is a pride for all Lorquinos to have writers in the category of Inma Pelegrín, whose literary voice has crossed our borders with winning works and who now consolidates as a novelist with an emotional, brave, and deep story,» he said.
The mayor pointed out that «Lorca is a land of writers, women, and men who make art out of words. We have a cultural richness that is an essential part of our identity, and from the Lorca government we will continue to support and promote that talent, the youngest, because culture and therefore literature, not only.

In this edition of the prize, 402 manuscripts were received from different countries, including Spain (192), Argentina (79), Mexico (46), Colombia (40), Chile (16), the United States (12), Uruguay (11), and Peru (6), which takes into account the international level and level of competition.
