El alcalde de Lorca exige que el nuevo Palacio de Justicia lleve el nombre del juez decano Juan Alcázar Alcázar

Lorquino was honored on Thursday at the judicial headquarters, where he pursued his career for his professional trajectory, his commitment to justice, and his human qualities.

In 2018, the Municipal Council awarded him the District Services Diploma, and a year later, he received the cross of the Order of San Raimundo de Peñafort.

Fulgencio Gil Jódar, mayor: «He always advocated for the need for Lorca to have a courthouse to consolidate judicial spaces, making it a well-deserved tribute.»

Thursday, June 26, 2025. On the eve of the first anniversary of the death of the senior magistrate, Juan Alcázar Alcázar, an institutional event took place where a commemorative plaque was unveiled in his memory at the judicial headquarters where he practiced law, at the corner of Lorca, in the Lorca Justice Palace on Corregidor Street Corner. The mayor, Fulgencio Gil Jódar, highlighted his professional career, commitment to justice, and human qualities, demanding that the main vision of the new Justice Palace being built in the block between Calles de las Pensiones and Selgas Palm Palm bear his name. «He always advocated for Lorca to have a courthouse in the Old City, consolidating the dispersed judicial spaces we have in up to five different locations,» said the mayor.

He also recalled that in 2018, Lorquino was awarded the District Services Diploma of the City of Lorca, and shortly after, he was honored with the distinguished cross of the first class of San Raimundo de Peñafort, bestowed by the Ministry of Justice. Over the years, he was the owner of the Poncemar Foundation. «He was very pleased with the progress of the Pancemar Foundation and especially with the training, research, and support center that began operating in 2021. It was of great importance to him to enhance the quality of life for the elderly through care.»

Gil Jódar described the tribute as «extremely emotional. Juan Alcázar reminds us of a great Lorquino. A Lorca without restrictions. We were together in sponsoring the Pancemar Foundation.»

He concluded that «this plaque unveiled on Thursday in his memory will soon be seen in the new judicial chambers in Lorca. I would like the main courtroom of the new courthouse to bear his name one day, because Juan deserved this.»

Attending the tribute event, at the doors of the Justice Palace and during the unveiling of the interior plaque, were alongside Mayor Lorca, Fulgencio Gil Jódar, President of the Superior Court of Murcia, Manuel Luna Carbonell; The Secretary of the Superior Court of Justice in Murcia, Javier Parra García; Senior Magistrate in Lorca, Carmen Berta Romero Esteban; and the senior prosecutor of Lorca, Francisca Rodríguez, in addition to colleagues, friends, and family of Juan Alcázar Alcázar.
