Desafíos reales para familias reales: Taller de discusión familiar

The counselor for social policies, family, and equality, Patricia Soriano, recalled that on May 15, the International Day of Families was commemorated and that, for this reason, the Family Department scheduled a discussion on this topic for Monday, June 2.

The workshop titled «Real challenges for real families» will be taught by three professional women: Vero Ortín, occupational therapist; Laura Moya, psychologist; and Paloma Martí, speech therapist. It will take place Monday, June 2 at 7:00 p.m. In the «Pablo Corbalán» assembly room of the Municipal House of Culture. It is open to all citizens and free of charge until capacity is reached.

Among the issues to be addressed are how to form a family today, the cultural and social changes facing families, how to deal with partners and children, the challenges in raising children, adolescence, and daily tools.

«We know that families are subject to many social changes and it is important to talk about it. Since 1994, the International Day of Families has been celebrated on May 15 to recognize the importance of the family as the basic unit of society; it is the person’s identity, their autonomy is protected, and it is the foundation on which social expectations are built,» said the counselor.

This workshop discussion was scheduled to review the International Day of Families, regardless of the family schools that were carried out throughout the year by the Municipal Social Services Center.
