El youth counselor, Isabel Pérez, and the coordinator of the «Basement» at the Hunters Center, Immaculate Palao, presented the new workshops and free games at the «Basement» Center for July. While it’s true that the age range for most activities is 11 to 35 years old, each workshop specifies the younger age group it targets.
The first activities that have already taken place were the snakes and ladders set on July 2nd Teller 3d Bolis. On July 3rd, although the latter will take place on July 23rd at 7:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, July 8th, there will be a Keychains with Shells Workshop at 6:30 p.m. for young people aged between 11 and 16. On Thursday, July 10th, there will be Board Games «Tresz Game» for everyone starting at 6:00 p.m. On Friday, July 11th, also at 6:00 p.m., there will be a Candle Making Workshop for young people up to 16 years old. The week will end on Saturday, July 12th, with a Drawing Workshop at 6:30 p.m.
For the following week, on Tuesday, July 15th, there will be a «Men’s Game for Men» at 5:30 p.m. On Wednesday, July 16th, at 11:30 a.m., there will be a Temporary Tattoos Workshop for young people aged between 11 and 16. On Thursday, July 17th, the morning will start at 11:30 a.m. with a «Photo» Board Game for the enjoyment of young people. That same day, at 6:00 p.m., there will be a Wallet Making Workshop. On Saturday, July 19th, at 6:00 p.m., you will learn how to make Origami.
During the last week of July, there will be a session of the Cubirds Board Game on Thursday, July 24th, at 6:00 p.m. On Friday, July 25th, at 11:30 a.m., there will be a Bracelet Making Workshop. The following Tuesday, July 28th, at 5:30 p.m., there will be an Earrings Workshop. On Wednesday, July 30th, at 11:30 a.m., there will be a Cooking Workshop. Finally, after July 31st, bid farewell to the «Basement» until September with a Group Games Afternoon.
Immaculate Palao, the coordinator of this space, reminded that in July, the «Basement» program has changed and will be open on Mondays after Tuesdays, and from Wednesdays to Saturdays in the morning and afternoon. In August, this youth center will remain closed and will return with its regular program starting on September 1st, closing during certain months.
Similarly, he mentioned the Guidance Service regarding health promotion, employment, youth guarantees, job registrations, training courses, scholarships, and assistance, among others. He also emphasized that «The Basement» is a very safe place for young people, with two monitors present for engagement and the availability of psychologists, social workers, and social educators.
