Regional agreement with the Municipal Council for the Financing Service means funding of 2.4 million by 2027.

Lorca, June 11, 2025. «Our commitment to social policy is one of the premises of this order because we understand our municipal model, in accordance with our 2032 framework; a commitment with which the regional government, whose funding will allow the extension of early intervention services in our municipality, up to a total of 19,267 annual sessions, with approximately 400 minors.»
These dates imply an extension of the Early Intervention Service in Lorca, specifically, of over 7,000 more sessions per year, all thanks to the regional funding that the community has allocated through the ‘iMas-Housinging’ agreement in the budget, which will allow «the City Council to contribute more and better to this public and free service that allows the integration of user users.»
This extension of sessions is distributed among the APAT Centers, Astrade, and the Municipal Center «Fina Navarro López». «In summary, the quality of service increases, as well as the number of users and families benefiting in our municipality, so we thank the community for their contribution and support in making this possible.»

It should be noted that APAT is one of the entities subject to the social concert of early intervention, launched through the Department of Social Rights in the city of Lorca, a pioneer that has been active since September 1.
During the visit, the mayor specified that this increase of over 7,000 annual sessions in Lorca, 1,413 corresponds to environmental sessions, adapted to the individual needs of each child to favor their development in ordinary spaces, such as school or their own home.
For her part, Conchita Ruiz has highlighted «the effort we have been making as a regional government to ensure that the free service allows more boys and girls in the region and provide more sessions to improve all 62 centers for child development and early intervention in the region and over 8,500 have been recognized with the early intervention law in place by 2021.»
During the visit, a commemorative plaque was unveiled, emphasizing the important work carried out by entities such as APAT and the city of Lorca to improve the intervention of care and, thus, reach the greatest number of beneficiaries. «Here, the work of the network is fundamental because we are in crucial ages, where immediacy plays a key role in the recovery of these minors. Detecting and acting as soon as possible allows us to minimize possible development problems and maximize the potential of each child,» explained Ruiz.
A center with greater care capacity
The new APAT resource will respond to the specific needs of children with developmental issues in the municipality of Lorca, through the Municipal Center «Fina Navarro López», which directs the interventions and the professional methodology to follow. APAT currently has no waiting lists and can
It has 200 places with nine individuals for individualized intervention for physiotherapy, speech therapy, pedagogy, and psychology services; a psychomotor room; another sensory intervention; Kitchen, adapted bathrooms, and a waiting room.
For the development of therapeutic interventions, the Center also has the support of various professionals: five speech therapists; a physiotherapist; a pedagogue, and a psychologist.
