Exposición conmemorativa del 65 aniversario de la Organización Española para Jóvenes en Espín Cultural Center

The history of an organization that has impacted the lives of thousands of young people over the last six decades can be explored between May 17th and May 22nd.

It will bring together a wide variety of historical objects, including photos, commemorative plaques, uniforms, typical eyeglasses, as well as handicrafts made by children and young people who were part of this organization.

Antonio David Sánchez, Mayor of Young Talents, expressed: «to pay tribute to an organization that has played a fundamental role in non-formal education and in the transmission of values such as entrepreneurship, effort, responsibility, and service to others.»

On May 14, 2025, Espín Cultural Center, located on Corredera Street, will host the 65th anniversary of the Spanish Youth Organization (OJE), which can be visited between May 17th and May 22nd, showcasing the history of an organization that has left a mark on thousands of young people over the past six decades.

The Councils for the Young Talent of the City of Lorca, Antonio David Sánchez, and the President of Oje Lorca Hargar El Cejo, Alfonso José Rodríguez, presented this exhibition on Wednesday, which will feature a diverse collection of historical objects, including photographers, commemorative plates, uniforms, and typical garments such as hats, caps, badges, rewards, patches, and flags, as well as textbooks and manuals made by children and young people who were part of this organization.

Antonio David Sánchez encouraged everyone to visit this exhibition, stating that it «pays tribute to an organization that has played a fundamental role in non-formal education and in the transmission of values such as entrepreneurship, effort, responsibility, and service to others.»

He added that «the 65th anniversary of the OJE is not just a milestone; it is a testament to the generations of young people who grew up, learned, and shared experiences under the umbrella of this organization. From the city of Lorca, we want to acknowledge the tireless work and, especially, the spirit of camaraderie.»

It should be noted that this exhibition is part of an extended program of activities that will take place throughout 2025 to commemorate this anniversary, including meetings, documents, and events.
