The «technological maturity» of Cartagena

Cartagena exhibited on Monday at FENDEF 2025 «Technological maturity and innovative potential of its specialized commercial ecosystem,» municipal sources reported in a statement.

Cartagena’s institutional and commercial delegation, led by Mayor Noelia Arroyo, highlighted the strategic role the city plays in this field.

«Cartagena’s presence at Feindef confirms that our municipality has a specialized commercial ecosystem in dual-use technologies, ready to participate in the modernization of our defense. Through the ‘Caetra’ program, it strengthens these capabilities to position itself as a European reference in dual technological development,» she said.

«We are a solid and mature project, with the ability to grow and take advantage of the investments that Europe has decided to make to ensure our defense autonomy,» the mayor said.

Arroyo pointed out that this «maturity» is reflected in projects like the first specialized commercial accelerator in Spain supporting local companies, ten of which have been recognized on this day for their commitment to innovation and technological development.

She also noted that the «Caetra» program is consolidated with the «Arsenal Line,» aimed at developing and applying advanced technologies for the Navy, in collaboration with national technology and international companies.

Additionally, it will continue to grow with other programs, such as a specialized accelerator in artificial intelligence applied to submarine naval technologies with the main collaborator.
