Represents 3.26% of total national sales and the highest amount in CCAA in absolute terms
Tobacco sales in the Murcia region increased to 428 million euros in 2024, representing a 5.14% increase compared to 407.1 million euros sold in the previous year, according to data from the Ministry of Finance consulted by Europe Press.
Specifically, cigarette sales in the Murcia region reached 368.2 million euros in 2024, representing a 4.88% increase compared to the previous year; while cigar sales increased by 12.2 million euros (+2.28%).
Additionally, counterfeit sales in 2024 in the region reached 33.9 million euros (+5.34%); and PIPA Sting sales added 13.6 million euros (+15.14%), according to the same data.
Total tobacco sales in the region reached 428 million euros in 2024, representing 3.26% of total sales at the national level (13,131.7 million euros).
Moreover, it ranks tenth in absolute terms only lower than Catalonia (2,813 million), Andalusia (2,179 million), Valencia (1,577 million), Madrid (1,507 million), Basque Country (719 million), Galicia (666 million), Castile and León (651 million), Castilla-La Mancha (576 million), and the Balearic Islands (470.7 million).
Sales by units
Regarding sales by units, the region recorded the sale of 72.5 million cigarettes in 2024, representing a 1.2% increase compared to the previous year; as well as 48.8 million cigars (-0.61%).
The region also saw the sale of 164,168 units of counterfeit bites (-1.5%); and 66,929 units of PIPA bites (+4.22%).
