Launch of a comprehensive program of coeducational workshops by the Department of Equality and Women

Equalities and women’s advisor, Patricia Soriano, reported on the large coeducation workshop program being carried out in close collaboration with the educational centers in our city. «When we talk about Coeducating, we are talking about teaching in the same classroom and with the same educational system for students or others,» said the councilor.

Workshops also focus on teachers (both schools and institutes), early care staff and nursery schools, families (from different educational centers), and groups of social vulnerability, such as young people who volunteer in the Young of the Young Red Cross Project, The Caritas Employment Program, the Women Immigrant Workshop of the Municipal Social Services Center, and the Employment and Training Workshop. Facts for Women and Girls in Science Day

The director of the Adult Education Center, Nuria Mariño, recalled that, as in previous years, Several activities commemorating Women and Girls in Science Day are being carried out today, Tuesday, February 11, to promote women’s access to studies and scientific research. Adult Education Center students researched several women scientists, which helped them create an exhibition with the works done.

The central activity is being carried out in collaboration with the Equality and Women’s Department and will consist of a Document/workshop on «Artificial Intelligence in our days» to be taught by Yeclana Anabel Forte Delell, Professor and researcher at the University of Valencia. It will be on Thursday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m. The director pointed out that Anabel Forte has collaborated in previous years with discussions at the Adult Education Center, emphasizing the importance of the research that this university professor carries out in the field of mathematics, her specialty, and how this influences people’s daily lives.

Nuria Mariño also emphasized the interest in raising awareness among her students, so that in the family, they would ferment and support the initiatives of girls who want to direct their studies towards scientific careers.
