Yecla City Council Approves Subsidies for Football Clubs and Municipal Regulations
The February plenary session of the city of Yecla approved the payment of a 75% advance on the economic subsidy stipulated in the agreement for the 2024/2025 season with Yecla Basic Football Company, amounting to 18,000 euros.
Similarly, it was approved to pay a 65% advance on the economic subsidy stipulated in the agreement for the 2024/2025 season with Sport Yeclano, amounting to 117,000 euros.
Modifications to Municipal Regulations
Regarding the proposals, a total alternative modification was approved, presented by the municipal socialist group, concerning the creation of a municipal alternative. The ordinance to regulate sponsorship and patronage was discussed, deciding to «continue the active work carried out by the government team to find the legal viability that will allow this municipal council to facilitate investments in exchange for tax incentives for potential private investors.» The execution would involve as many measures, operations, or actions as necessary for its implementation. Subsequently, procedures would begin to prepare regulations to govern private investments in the cultural sector, either through investment methods or cultural sponsorship.
New Waste Fee
Finally, the total alternative change presented by the popular municipal group was approved in the proposal from the United Left Municipal Group regarding the new waste fee. It urges the Spanish government to «respect municipal autonomy and recognize the freedom of municipalities to establish their own taxes, allowing local entities to exempt their citizens from tax burdens.» Additionally, it requests the «repeal of the obligation to implement and apply the waste fee in all municipalities and cover 100% of the costs outlined in the waste and polluters law for a circular economy.»
