This morning, the presentation of the XVI Memorial Pedro Muñoz «El Calero» was held with the help of sports advisor Antonio Martínez, Lidia Sánchez, vice president – President of the Athletics Federation in the Region of Murcia (FAMU) and José André Santa, President of Ada Yeclano, Organizer of the Sports Event.
The sports advisor thanked Ada Yeclano for the urban circuit starting at 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 12.
José Andrés Santa emphasized that the big news this year is a change in the circuit route. The start and finish take place on Calle San José, but this year the athletes will visit a circuit that continues on Calle Amat Pascual to Avda. From Paz, returning along Columbus Street to Plaza de San Cayetano to bring Calle San José back to the finish line. Therefore, the organization has planned a flat and fast course.
Santa explained a change in the program for this edition. At 5:00 PM, a solidarity march that this year will benefit Kapaces and AYAC. At 5:30 PM, 5 and 10 km races, and at 7:00 PM, children’s races.
The deadline to participate remains open until Wednesday, April 9 at 8:00 PM. No registrations can be made on the day of the event. The organization expects around 450 athletes to participate. The race numbers can be collected at Parque de la Constitución starting at 11:00 AM on the day of the event. At that time, non-perishable food items will be collected for interparochial charities.
Ada Yeclano’s president appreciated the support of Yecla, through the municipal sports service and FAMU, as well as the collaboration of the local police, the Red Cross, and Civil Protection. Finally, Lidia Sánchez, vice president of FAMU, thanked the great work done by Ada Yeclano, considered one of the most important clubs in the region, and noted that the event is on the FAMU calendar.
