Participación del alcalde de Yecla en entrega de medallas de oro 2025 de Cruz Roja

The mayor of Yecla, Remedios Lajara, and the president of the Red Cross, Yecla, Francisco José Sánchez, participated in the ceremony for the delivery of the 2025 gold medals that took place this morning at the Teatro Romea in Murcia, presided over by Queen Letizia, along with the president of the Red Cross, Maria Pago.

Under the slogan «The strength of our principles,» this central event was organized on the occasion of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, celebrated every May 8th in 191 countries where the humanitarian organization is present. The recipients of the 2025 awards were journalist Almudena Ariza, teacher César Bona, the Red Cross of Burkina Faso, activist Emilia Lozano, and the African Nasco that nurtures minds.

In our city, the Red Cross has a collaboration agreement with the city of Yecla, focusing on social objectives and purposes of care and improvement in six fields: social inclusion, mediation and translation, training and education, youth and support conversation. The Yecla Red Cross has the direct participation of 170 volunteers and the commitment of approximately a thousand residents who are members of this organization. In the commemorative ceremony on October 12, 2023, National Party Day, the Local Council of Yecla paid tribute to this organization to acknowledge their work and that of all the individuals who volunteer altruistically for their neighbors.
