La joven artista Irene Quiñonero presenta su primera exposición de pintura en el Hallo Ruano de Lorca

The exhibition, which includes approximately thirty works, will open on Friday, April 4 and will remain open to the public until April 25.

It brings together a selection of drawings made with various techniques, from the use of dry materials such as charcoal, squirrel, and pastels, to water techniques such as watercolor.

Antonio David Sánchez, mayor of young talents, stated: «Lorca has a great lineup of young talents with promising futures in different disciplines, and it is our duty to support them so they can develop their vocation here, in their city.»

April 2, 2025. The young talent advisor of the Lorca Municipal Council, Antonio David Sánchez, announced on Wednesday that the City Council collaborated with the young artist from Lorca, Irene Quiñonero, to present her first painting exhibition. The exhibition, consisting of around thirty works, will open on Friday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ruano Garden and will be open to the public until April 25.

The exhibition showcases a selection of drawings featuring predominately human figures, both in portraits and full-body representations. Irene Quiñonero has worked with various techniques, ranging from the use of dry materials like charcoal, cream, and pastels, to water techniques like watercolor.

Antonio David Sánchez emphasized the Lorca Government’s commitment to promoting young artists from the city, highlighting that «from the Department of Young Talents to give visibility to emerging artists and bring Lorca’s and visitors’ talent closer. Young individuals with promising futures in different disciplines, and our duty is to support them in developing their vocation here, in their city, in their city, in their city.»

He also added, «We invite all Lorca residents, art and culture enthusiasts, to discover Irene’s work. Her talent and dedication serve as an example of how, with effort and passion, young people can turn their dreams into reality. From the Lorca government, we continue to believe that young individuals can build their future in what truly impassions them.»

In turn, Irene Quiñonero expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to exhibit at the Ruano Garden, stating, «It was my dream when I turned 18 to organize an exhibition with my works. For my craft.»

Quiñonero began studying art at the Municipal School of Fine Arts with Juan Jiménez as her teacher when she was just eight years old. Subsequently, during her high school studies, she maintained her love for this discipline, with her artistic vein manifesting due to her teacher Lajarín’s encouragement to delve into comic drawing. Currently, she is in her second year of high school studying art.
