Grupo de Asturias, Castilla-La Mancha y Murcia en la Exposición Nacional de Folklore este sábado 10 de mayo en el teatro «Concha Segura»

The Minister of Culture, Daniel Jiménez, and José Miguel García, president of the Arab Folklore Group of Yecla, officially presented the national folklore exhibition «Ciudad de Yecla,» which will take place as planned. On Saturday, May 10, starting at 7:00 p.m., at the «Concha Segura» theater in Yecla, with free admission until full capacity is reached.

In addition to the hosts, the Arab Folklore Group of Yecla, the national folklore exhibition will feature performances by San Antón choir and dances from Peña Huertana «La Zaranda» in Murcia, the Magisterte Dance group, and the folkloric group «La Sidrina» in Lugones (Oviedo). Before the Gala, at 6:00 p.m., the participating groups will attend an official reception offered by the city of Yecla.

The Minister of Culture, Daniel Jiménez, extended an invitation to participate in this event, which «appreciates the traditional clothing of each folklore group, the cultural exchange that takes place with the participating groups, preserving our heritage and legacy.» He also expressed greetings and thanks to the popular group «Arabí» for their work over the years with the folklore exhibition.

An event deeply rooted in the San Isidro festivities programming. The President of the Popular Group «Arabí» emphasized that the national folklore events and San Isidro share a commitment to «our customs, traditions, roots, and ultimately, the legacy left to us by our ancestors.» In this sense, it aims to continue as a continuation of the Municipal School of Arts and Customs for the people created in our city.

This year’s poster was created by Adrián Soriano, a member of the popular group «Arabí.» The author explained that he wanted to «simplify all the roots of folklore into the image of two dancers in Labrador costumes, combined with spirals of colors, embroidery designs, wine stains, and excerpts from some paragraphs of Yecla.»
