«Socialist governments are making progress in the region against the demagogues of the PP, because we directly address the major challenges.»
The new Secretary General of the Socialist Party in the Region of Murcia (PSRM), Francisco Lucas, called today at the close of the 17th Regional Congress of the Party for «courage» so that members and citizens can conclude a stage of the «exhausted» and «failed policies.»
With the sound of the band Viva Suecia, Lucas took the stage at El Batel with the President of the Government and the Secretary General of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, thanking all his colleagues in the Executive.
First of all, the new Secretary General of the PSRM, thanked the Secretary General and the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, because he «personally transferred his support» and «believes in this federation and in the region of Murcia.»
Lucas defended the new socialist executive as «not just a group of people, but a combination of talents, experience, and renewal. It represents the diversity and power of the Socialist Party in the region of Murcia.»
«The PP era is exhausted»
This year, Lucas said, marks 30 years since the Popular Party came to power in the region of Murcia. «Thirty years that have left the region of Murcia on the brink of life and opportunities. Thirty years of disgust, waste, and corruption.»
«The worst part is that, during this time, the PP tried to steal the citizens’ hope, making them believe that nothing can change, that there is no other option, that there is no alternative to the popular party. But they will not do it, and we will not allow it,» he added.
For Lucas, «the popular party era is exhausted» because «their policies have failed.» Therefore, the new Secretary General of the PSRM does not agree with the fact that «one-third of the region’s citizens live at risk of poverty and social exclusion, that every six hours a dependent person dies while waiting for their benefit, that we breathe some of the most polluted air in Europe, that our wonder must kill or kill the public.»
Therefore, he insisted: «The region of Murcia needs an alternative, the alternative offered by the Socialist Party, because it is not condemned to suffer the blackmailer’s blackmail.»
«López Miras is still determined to put the lives of citizens in the hands of» Ultra-Bight. Lgtbi.
In summary, for Lucas, «López Miras is closer to those who use institutions to spread hate speech,» but the region of Murcia «does not deserve the damage caused by the Popular Party.»
«In a complex historical moment, Spain shines with its own light»
In the National Code, Lucas referred to the «complex historical moment» that society is experiencing, with a «reactive wave advancing worldwide threatening rights and freedoms.» «Fortunately, in this scenario, in this context, Spain shines with its own light.»
Therefore, the figure of President Pedro Sánchez is «appreciated» in front of those who wish to return to the darkest moments of the past. «Today we need a president who continues to defend our industry, our countryside, our farmers, among those who seek a weakened Europe.»
He also praised the «economic leadership of the Spanish Government,» strengthening labor rights, protecting the most vulnerable, and supporting working families with labor reform, minimum wage growth, or minimum income.
At this point, he emphasized that since Sánchez came to power, «more resources have arrived than in the region of Murcia.» «We leave behind the abandonment that Mariano Rajoy condemned us to, with an unprecedented investment. And soon we will have the three main cities, Murcia, Cartagena, and Lorca, connected by high-speed rail and corridor.»
He also highlighted the support of the Spanish Government for Mar Menor, allocating 700 million. «We will recover Mar Menor, despite López Miras and despite the Popular Party.»
«Socialist governments are making progress in the region of Murcia against populism, facing the demagogues of the PP,» because socialists «have the courage to confront the major challenges we face in the region of Murcia.»
Regarding water policy, Lucas emphasized that the PSOE has «a clear roadmap to ensure it forever in this region.» This roadmap involves, amidst the reality of climate change, modernizing irrigation.
«Murcia cannot continue to be one of the most severe regions»
The new Secretary General of the PSRM referred to the «Underfunding» suffered by the Region of Murcia, a situation that must change. «We need proper funding, taking into account our uniqueness, ensuring equal opportunities,» he said, while expressing confidence in the Spanish government for this goal.
«From here, I ask the PP not to block an agreement, not to use the regional funding system to confront the government of Pedro Sánchez, not to harm the region,» he added.
For Lucas, the future of the region of Murcia lies in a socialist government, which is why he «ran for the Secretary General of the Socialist Party,» although he warns that «change will not come alone. Achieving it requires more than words. It requires commitment, work, and above all, courage.»
«We need the courage of all militants, the courage of all our supporters and the courage of all our voters. But also the courage of those who have not yet voted and want to,» he said.
The goal of the new Secretary General of the PSRM is to «build the project of the people who, after 30 years of Popular Party government, want to move forward,» so he asked comrades and militants for «courage.»
«We must be brave for our young people who know nothing else and deserve to live in this land with dignity. Brave to build a region with more social justice, more opportunities, better quality of life. Brave to proudly defend our heritage, history, and culture,» he said.
«Brave to reach the hearts of all citizens in the region of Murcia, to rekindle, defend a region we deserve and need, to regain ambition, dream, because we are ready, strong, with courage and bravery,» he concluded.
