This morning, the award ceremony took place at the university campus in Lorca, an event attended by over 150 students from the municipality.
The initiative, launched in December of last year in collaboration with the local council, began with an initial phase involving 40 projects submitted by students from educational institutions in the Guadalentín region.
The Mayor of Education and Employment of Lorca, Rosa María Medina, attended the meeting, emphasizing «the importance of these initiatives in promoting entrepreneurship in our municipality, something that the Lorca government is committed to in terms of employment and fostering innovation in the world of work.»

The Mayor of Education and Employment of Lorca, Rosa María Medina, stressed «the importance of rewarding entrepreneurial spirit in young people as a lever for their development and as a way to spread the seeds of entrepreneurship to other adolescents, reflecting all the possibilities. I encourage all young people to shape their future and not be afraid to fight for what they believe in. Of course, the local council will continue to support and collaborate with the Guadalentín Emprende initiatives, through events and activities, including establishing connections with other companies and networking opportunities.»
This took place during the celebration of the I Gala for the «Entrepreneurs» awards at the Empress of Guadalentín, the Association of Young Entrepreneurs in Lorca, in collaboration with the Lorca Municipal Council, which took place on Wednesday, March 12, at the University of Lorca campus, attracting hundreds of young people eager to join these projects, with three winners.
The competition began its first phase in December 2024, with over 40 students from educational institutions in the Guadalentín region submitting their projects. Following the three stages of the competition, three projects emerged as winners in this inaugural edition.
Specifically, the first prize, consisting of a monetary award of 500 euros and a year of free membership in the Guadalentín Emprende Young People’s Association, was awarded to «Souls and Smiles», by students Hanane Daki, Iman Albou, and María Martínez from IES Ramón Arcas, who proposed a project benefiting children, elderly, and volunteers.
The second prize, amounting to 300 euros, went to the project «Blablabus», by student Mateo Quiñonero from IES Ramón Arcas, who envisioned a company aimed at centralizing and connecting people interested in events and festivals in Spain, providing a comfortable, reliable, and accessible transportation service.
And the third prize, of 200 euros, was awarded to the project «Siipíbito» by students Blanca Ortega, Miguel Ángel Lario, and Fátima Ezzahra from CIFP Lorca, focusing on a company dedicated to providing nutrition for people with dysphagia, to prevent choking, aspiration pneumonia, dehydration, or malnutrition, offering a diet that appears as a mud.
In addition, honorable mentions were also given to the two finalist projects: the digitization project «Imme-Mallorca» by Luis Miguel Piqueras from IES Ramón Arcas; and «We Are Seeds» by student Ana Elena Martínez from CIF.
Following the awards ceremony, the presentation «Awake and Emprende» was delivered by educator Javi Soto, and finally, entrepreneur Jesús from Agrisens shared his testimonial.
