Lorca, April 9, 2025. The Tourism Councilor, Santiago Parra, together with the Disability Mayor, Belén Díaz, has presented the special tourism device by the city of Lorca on the occasion of Easter Week, which provides adequate and effective reports to both Lorquinos and visitors, about the main events, their locations, and the suitable things, with the days and damages on the days. And this year is marked by its accessible and inclusive nature.

«The accessibility campaign implemented in Lorca’s 2025 Easter Week meant a tangible and measurable advancement in the inclusion of all people. The contribution to this international event is also a space for diversity, respect, and social innovation. Fundamental axes;

Specifically, on Dolores Friday (from 5:00 pm until the end of the procession), on Great Friday and Easter Sunday (from 11 am to 2:30 pm and from 6 pm until the end of the procession), there will be an information point for people with disabilities at the Palace of Guevara, transforming this key area into an inclusive space.

The disability mayor, Belén Díaz, stated that «there will be Navilens codes on: accessibility measures, the holiday program, and the history of the week that will indicate areas of interest for people with disabilities. They also include a connection that will allow live location for visually impaired persons, as mentioned.

Auditory guides and anti-notification headphones will be available for people with TSA, sensory hypersensitivity, anxiety, or other similar needs. For them, the new «friendly planet» space is specially designed, an adapted tent with grass, aromas, and sensory materials that offers a calm and safe environment and specialized attention. It will be available during the procession times at the main church gate in San Mateo. All these facilities were made in collaboration with Musivel.

Officially, the tourism device will start next Friday, Dolores’ Friday and will be operational until Easter Sunday. The operation will strengthen the key days, Thursday and Friday, with 30 people added to the usual ones, reaching a total of over 100 informants. They will all offer their services from the counters located at strategic points in the city: tourism, the Castle, and the Visitors Center, as well as the ordinary spaces, complemented by those near the churches in Santo Domingo and San Francisco, Palace of Guevara, and Oval.

As a novelty, in the entire offer of points of interest, the opening of the old Church of Santa Maria at the mayor’s office, the headquarters of the Medieval Ciufront Museum, from Saturday to Easter Sunday, between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm. Also noteworthy is the extraordinary exhibition of the white and blue float, the «embroidery of the XX century,» a joint display that includes pieces from the museum (since there are no processions) and that will allow, once the Big Friday procession is completed, the embroidered works in our city to continue to be enjoyed, as they will be open to the public from April 10 onwards, from April 10.»

In total, 8,000 generic programs were printed, including those distributed in English and French, 6,500 on Good Friday, lower figures than the previous year for sustainability and environmental respect and participating in the growing implementation of new technologies. These include, for example, the location of information points, the brotherhood, the details of each party, recommendations and suggestions, such as guided tours, points of interest, such as embroidery museums, tourist activities, or safety tips. In addition to the 500 sacred posters distributed throughout the city. All materials, including adapted brochures, are available in digital format, not to mention the informative totems located in the city’s heritage, the city’s points of interest, of which over a hundred have already been renewed, prioritizing the most prominent enclaves for the celebration of Easter Week.
