Oenegés councilor in the city of Lorca, Belén Díaz, along with the President of the Fibromyalgia Association of Lorca (Afilor), Antonia Robles, presented on Thursday the activities organized for the second benefit gala, taking place on May 12th. And fibromyalgia days are highlighted.
Belén Díaz emphasized that «Afilor does commendable work for the visibility and improvement of the quality of life for people living with fibromyalgia. According to the Lorca government, we want to carry out and collaborate on these types of actions to promote health, empathy, and well-being.»
The Mother’s Day beneficial gala, happening on Sunday, May 4th at 6:00 p.m. at the Margarita Lozano Auditorium, will feature Lorquina artist Marisol Segura, thanks to whose collaboration it was possible to celebrate this second edition. Alongside her, María Jesús and her accordion, and artist Yeray, known for his success at the Benidorm Casino, as well as singer Carmen Murcia, will perform. The event will be hosted by Pedro Tomás.
The ticket price will be 15 euros, and all proceeds will be fully allocated to cover the expenses related to improving Afilor’s new headquarters. Tickets are available for purchase at the association’s headquarters, located on Jardineros Street in the Viña neighborhood, and starting from April 28th, they will also be available at the Teatro War box office (from 10 am to 1:30 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm) and at Margarita Lozano.
Additionally, the activity program includes the «Invisible» photographic exhibition, featuring images by Isabella Wonder Art, opening on April 30th at 8:30 p.m. and open for visits until May 13th. It will be set up at the Cajamurcia Foundation classroom, with opening hours from Monday to Friday, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and from Tuesday to Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. «This exhibition, which has traveled to various municipalities in the region, such as Mula, Bullas, Puerto Lumbreras, Águilas, … returns to Lorca due to popular demand to provide a deep and sensitive look at the reality of fibromyalgia,» said the Oengés Mayor.
Furthermore, on May 12th and 13th, starting at 5:30 p.m., Afiliul will also hold informative days in the cultural classroom at Cajamurcia, located on Pío XII Street, with the participation of various specialists, such as Teresa Pallarés, Moașa from the Sutullena Health Center; Juana María Martínez García and Juana María Martínez Caballero, physiotherapists from the Sutelena Health Center; Rita María Giner, psychologist; and Ana Belén Salguero, the primary care physician who will address the disease from different medical and social perspectives. Entry will be free and open to the general public.
